Ray Michalski Paintings
at Handlebar, 2311 W. North Ave.

Sixteen year old Ray Michalski has been painting watercolor landscapes for the past two and a half years.

“I get my ideas from my head and put them on paper. I like to paint landscapes because they are inspiring to me.  I like to bring life to the painting.  I want people to have good feelings from my paintings”

He started exploring this medium as an eighth grader. Since then, he has made hundreds of paintings and drawings. Although Ray attended Franklin Fine Arts Center, a Chicago Public School, he is largely self taught. Currently he attends Arlyn Day School in Wilmette.

Ray has also participated in a summer program at Project Onward at the Chicago Cultural Center.
